Programme Visit Holovis

BRITISH MALAYSIAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE VISITS HOLOVIS AS PART OF THE 25th JPA-BMCC MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME.

This week a delegation of senior Government officials from Malaysia visited immersive experience design company Holovis’ Midlands offices. Their visit formed part of the 25th JPA-BMCC Management Development Programme, which offers senior-level Government officers in Malaysia a chance to gain practical experience by collaborating with members of the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC), offering participants the opportunity to visit and work alongside a number of leading British companies.

The theme for this year’s programme is “Fostering Leaders for Holistic Innovation and Smart Development”, with 15 senior government officers participating. The Malaysian Government has set several key focus areas including energy transition, AI, digital, communication, cybersecurity, food technology, flood management, and talent development.

Holovis were selected to host the visit due to their long-standing working relationship with both the Government of Malaysia and a number of companies from the country. During the visit the Government officials experienced the latest of Holovis’ technologies, including cutting-edge artificial intelligence and large scale AV installations. The company demonstrated their latest projection domes, large LED screens and DeepSmarts data platform, which you can see more about on their website at www.holovis.com. Holovis also recently hosted Minister of Digital, Malaysia, H.E. Gobind Singh Deo as part of London Tech Week.

As part of their visit, the officers also travelled to Holovis’ partners, WMG at the University of Warwick. WMG is a world leading research and education group, transforming organisations and driving innovation through a unique combination of collaborative research and development, and pioneering education programs.

As an international role model for successful partnerships between academia and the private and public sectors, WMG develops advancements nationally and globally, in applied science, technology and engineering, to deliver real impact to economic growth, society and the environment.

WMG’s education program focus on lifelong learning of the brightest talent, from the WMG Academies for Young Engineers, degree apprenticeships, undergraduate and postgraduate, through to professional programs.

An academic department of the University of Warwick, and a centre for the HVM Catapult, WMG was founded by the late Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya in 1980 to help reinvigorate UK manufacturing and improve competitiveness through innovation and skills development.

Whilst at WMG the team were able to get a first-hand look at some of the exciting technologies they’re working on for their clients and partners.

Holovis’ Head of Platforms, Stuart Edgington, commented that “the Minister’s visit is a wonderful opportunity for us to demonstrate the fantastic technological work that we’re doing right here in the heart of the Midlands. We have been partners with WMG for many years now, so this chance to work closely with the Malaysian Ministry of Digital to show how we can assist them bring their vision to life was very exciting for us”
