Holovis Present TiO
Holovis Present ‘TiO’ – A first for Rides & Attractions, Giving Guests the Choice of Two Totally Different Experiences & Perspectives!
Immersive experience designers Holovis announce ‘TiO’ – a unique technology solution that allows the creation of two completely different experiences, at the same time, on the same ride or attraction. The Patent-Pending TiO system (‘two-in-one’), allows two different media or real-time interactive experiences to be delivered simultaneously on every screen within the overall design. Using similar technology to 3D theatres, one set of guests can be seeing one immersive video or playing and interacting with one real-time gameplay per scene, whilst the other set of guests in the same ride vehicle, scene, or walk-through experience, will see completely different media or real-time gameplay on exactly the same screen at the same time!
TiO also enables intertwined story-telling narratives, allowing the guests to separate and come back together as the experience unfolds.
This is another first.
The TiO system seamlessly integrates with the existing Holovis HoloTrac suite of capabilities that have been developed over the past 5 years by the company and delivered on unique attractions world-wide, including frictionless and deviceless interactions, gesture and camera-tracking options and real-time data and AI-driven next-generation solutions for attractions and experiences. This takes immersion to an even deeper, more exciting level.
Holovis are always innovating new ways to apply next-generation technology to theme park attractions and experiences – demonstrated by award-winning attractions such as the LEGO Factory Adventure Ride at LEGOLAND New York Resort. The technology behind TiO utilises high frame rate LED screens, showing the two different media or real-time content on alternating frames. By showing guests every other frame, filtered and synchronised by the lightweight glasses, the result, when also combined with the HoloTrac capabilities, provides for an incredibly flexible and creative approach to the development of unique immersive experiences, dark rides, flying theatres, walk-through attractions and beyond!
Utilizing individualized on-board and scene-by-scene immersive audio, and integrated creatively with the scenic design, the results are truly limitless - a superhero ride can be created where guests choose the narrative and outcome of the action, while with real-time game content and interaction they can battle it out with their family and friends from two competing or collaborative perspectives. With real-time interaction, guests can choose the intensity of their attraction depending on the audience - imagine a haunted house attraction where kids and adults can choose how scary they want their experience to be and make it different each time! This approach also delivers that much needed increased re-rideability requirement, through multi-perspective, multi-point narratives and media, though, ‘unique every time’ gameplay and interactions that can create the ultimate high-score leader board incentive to ride again, delivering increased audience sizes and an exciting marketing proposition for the attraction or experience unlike anything else before it.
CEO Stuart Hetherington explains,
“After the success of our HoloTrac technology and our recent large-scale projects in the Middle-East and China which have deployed our own large-scale immersive LED technology solutions, we knew the time was right to bring these capabilities together and create something very unique that’s not been achieved before in mainstream attractions and experiences. This is a never-before-seen innovation for theme parks and experience venues, and we’re excited about the reception the idea has been receiving from our theme park clients and operators we’ve already discussed it with”
Marketing Manager Ben Fry adds
“Rides and attractions are best experienced as a community with others, so we’re really excited by the developments offered by TiO in allowing guests of all ages to ride, experience and be immersed together, while being given a new level of agency around interaction and choosing their preferred experience and then discussing the differences in what they’ve seen and done afterwards, before deciding how they want to experience it all over again!”.
